Dame Georgina Kingi, affectionately known as “Miss Kingi,” has dedicated over sixty years to St Joseph Māori Girls’ College, serving as a pupil, teacher, and principal since 1987. As she retires, her legacy is celebrated by former pupils, who admire her unwavering commitment to Māori education and her high standards for student achievement.

Miss Kingi will join a four-person Māori education advisory group established by Education Minister Erica Stanford, where she will focus on improving educational outcomes for Māori learners and addressing long-standing equity gaps in the education system (source: CathNews).
