See what Jubilees we’ll be celebrating in February!

Jubilee of Armed Forces, Police and Security Personnel

8 – 9 Feb 2025

Over this weekend, we give thanks for all those who serve and protect our country and communities. We honour the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to these professions, often putting themselves at risk in the name of justice, honour, and peace.

Inspired by their courage and selflessness, may we continue to work towards a safer, more just world for all.

Prayers for the Armed Forces, Police and Security Personnel

God of peace, God of strength, we stand before the cross where Jesus laid down his life for others—the cross, a sign of sacrifice and the promise of resurrection. We honour in prayer all those who have given their lives to protect and serve others, especially the men and women of our armed forces, police, and security personnel. We remember those from our own community, and the loved ones of those gathered here. May their sacrifice inspire us to pursue peace in our own land and throughout the world. Grant comfort to all who grieve the loss of loved ones through conflict and service. May they find hope in the new life won for us by Jesus, your Son. Amen.

O Almighty God, whose great power and eternal wisdom embrace the universe, watch over all who serve in the armed forces, law enforcement, and security services. Father in Heaven, please give them the strength, courage, and perseverance to endure the unjust condemnation, dangers, and physical challenges to which they are at times subjected. We commend them to your loving care, as their duty is often dangerous. Dear God, grant these brave individuals your almighty protection, and unite them safely with their families after their duty has ended. Amen.

Jubilee of Artists

15 – 16 Feb 2025

This weekend, we give thanks for the creativity, inspiration, and vision that artists bring to our world. Through their diverse expressions artists reflect the beauty and mystery of creation, drawing us closer to the divine.

May this Jubilee encourage us all to recognise and celebrate the divine spark within every act of creativity.

St. Catherine of Bologna Prayer for Artists

Loving God, through the intercession of Saint Catherine of Bologna, patron of artists, guide those who create to use their gifts for your glory. May they, like Catherine, find inspiration in your beauty and reflect your love in their works. Strengthen them in moments of doubt, grant them courage in their struggles, and remind them that true creativity flows from you. May their art inspire hope, faith, and unity in all who encounter it. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Jubilee of Deacons

22 – 23 Feb 2025

This weekend, we honour the role of Deacons in our Church, acknowledging their devotion and the countless ways they guide us closer to God through their words and deeds.

Let us give thanks for their ministry and pray for their continued strength and grace in their calling.

Prayer for Deacons

O Christ, You are the source of all ministry in the Church. In response to the needs of the People of God, through the laying on of hands and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, You have called forth and ordained deacons as servants for our Church.

Continue to sustain those You have called to this ministry, so they remain ardent servants with gentle hearts, proclaiming the Gospel and serving at Your Holy table.

Help them reflect the real and true presence of Christ, the Deacon, to the needy among us. We also give thanks for those who accompany these men in their journey of service—their wives and families, their parish communities, and all those who call them to respond in faith, hope, and love.

Loving Savior, continue to help Your Church affirm our deacons in their service. Together as one family of faith, may all that we say and do give honour and glory to You and draw others ever closer to Your Sacred Heart. Amen.
