Jubilee of Seminarians
17 – 18 May 2025
This weekend, we give thanks for the young men who are answering the call to a life of service, prayer, and dedication within the Church.
Prayer of John Paul II for Vocations
Lord Jesus, as You once called the first disciples to make them fishers of men, let your sweet invitation continue to resound: Come follow Me!
Give young men and women the grace of responding quickly to your voice. Support our bishops, priests and consecrated people in their apostolic labour.
Grant perseverance to our seminarians and to all those who are carrying out the ideal of a life totally consecrated to your service.
Awaken in our community a missionary eagerness. Lord, SEND WORKERS TO YOUR HARVEST and do not allow humanity to be lost for the lack of pastors, missionaries and people dedicated to the cause of the Gospel.
Mary, Mother of the Church, the model of every vocation, help us to say “yes” to the Lord who calls us to cooperate in the divine plan of salvation. Amen.
Jubilee of the World of Education
24 – 25 May 2025
This weekend, we give thanks for the teachers, mentors, administrators, and support staff who dedicate themselves to the growth and development of students.
PRAYER FOR OUR SCHOOLS
We pray for the Catholic schools in Te Rohe Pīhopa o Te Papaioea (Diocese of Palmerston North).
E Te Atua, God our loving Father, You gift us with this world and invite us to respond with love and wisdom.
E Hēhu Karaiti, Jesus Christ, beloved Son, You show us how to live and call us to participate in your life and mission.
E Te Wairua Tapu, Holy Spirit, You empower and guide us on our shared spiritual journey.
Bless the young people and whānau in our parishes and their Catholic school communities.
Bless all who work in and support Catholic Education in Aotearoa New Zealand. Remind us that you are always with us.
Fill educators with enthusiasm, knowledge and joy to learn and teach that which is at the heart of our schools, You, who live and reign for ever and ever, Āmene.

Jubilee of Families and Children

This weekend, we joyfully celebrate the Jubilee of Families and Children, giving thanks for the love, joy, and strength that families bring to our communities.
PRAYER FOR FAMILIES
Loving God, we thank you for the gifts of families.
We ask your blessing on all families today and always. Be with us in our daily life together. Be our guide in times of challenge. Be our strength in times of difficulty. Be our joy in times of delight.
Help our families to grow stronger in your love, and show us how to love one another as you have loved us.
May we welcome Jesus as the unseen guest in our home. May we be his voice and hands, respecting and caring for those we meet. May we look to the example of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, as we strive to be the best family we can be.
Most Holy Family of Nazareth, pray for us. Amen
