No doubt you’ve been hearing more about the Hidden Disability Sunflower Scheme. This initiative is a response to our synodal discernment within the diocese, answering the Spirit’s call to be more welcoming and inclusive.

Nick Wilson and David Loving-Molloy recently travelled to Napier to lead the latest training session for the scheme, which aims to remove barriers to full participation, hospitality, and inclusion in the life of the Church.

A heartfelt thank you to the girls of the Sacred Heart Napier Young Vinnies Group, who baked delicious sunflower-themed muffins for the training participants. The treats were warmly received by attendees from across Napier’s Catholic community, as well as by our ecumenical brothers and sisters, who showed great interest in the scheme and its vision for a more inclusive Church.
