Jubilee of Migrants

4 – 5 October 2025

This weekend, we celebrate the Jubilee of Migrants, giving thanks for the resilience, courage, and hope of all those who have left their homelands in search of a better life.

Prayer for the Day of Prayer for Refugees and Migrants

God, Father Almighty,
Grant us the grace to work tirelessly for climate change action and justice,
solidarity and peace,
so that all your children may enjoy the freedom to choose whether to migrate or to stay.
Grant us the courage to denounce all the horrors of our world,
and to combat every injustice that mars the beauty of your children and the harmony of our
common home.
Sustain us by the power of your Spirit,
so that we can reflect your tender love to every migrant whom you place in our path,
and to spread in hearts and in every situation the culture of encounter and of care.

Jubilee of Marian Spirituality

11 -12 October 2025

This weekend, we celebrate the Jubilee of Marian Spirituality, giving thanks for the profound love, faith, and devotion inspired by Mary, the Mother of God.

Hail Holy Queen

Miha mahana to you, O Queen, Mother of loving kindness, our life, our happiness, our hope.
Hear us cry out to you, children of Eve, in our hikoi of life. Hear us as we sigh, with groaning and
weeping, in this life, in the valley of tears.
Come then, our Kaitaunaki, turn towards us the gaze of your kind and loving eyes, and show us
Jesus, the Blessed fruit of your womb, when at last our hikoi here on earth is ended.
O Gentle, O Loving, O Sweet Mother Mary.

Jubilee of Consecrated Life

25 – 26 October 2025

This weekend, we celebrate the Jubilee of Consecrated Life, giving thanks for those who have dedicated their lives fully to God through vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

Prayer for our Religious Sisters and Brothers

God of loving kindness, we remember those religious sisters and brothers who have been part of our diocese over many years, and we give thanks for their inspiration, dedication, sacrifice and life of service.
Bless all who continue to keep alive their spirit in schools and institutions throughout the diocese. May we be ever grateful for the example they gifted us in following Jesus.
God of inspiration, we pray for the religious sisters, brothers and priests who continue to be a sign of your loving care.
May their lives of prayer and service lived through the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience be an inspiration to us to continue to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
Continue to bless them in their lives of love and care for your people. Amen.
